Meet the Team - Norm, Paula, Colin & David

A Carmel native, Paula Joy MacNab's roots in the community run deep.  As the daughter of pioneering parents, she grew up on the Big Sur Coast, and was raised with an appreciation of the coastline, and awe for the incredible beauty of the Monterey Peninsula as well as a sense of community.
 
A real estate agent (Cal RE #01984618) and professional Interior Designer and Color Consultant, Paula blends real estate and interior design honing valuable skills used daily in real estate negotiations.  For over 25 years, her design experience includes work for yacht interiors, television stage sets, restaurants and commercial properties with a focus on high-end residential design interiors.

Paula offers a broad international vision to her exclusive clientele throughout North America, Mexico, New Zealand and Hawaii.  She has a keen interest in Mexico and frequently visits Puerto Vallarta - drawn to the people, their culture, cuisine, and her beloved Mexican stepfamily.  Paula has lived in New Zealand and Australia and traveled internationally throughout Europe, Africa and South America.
 
An avid blue-water sailor, tennis player, golfer, reader, and animal lover, as well as an enthusiastic foodie, wine aficionado, travel and design addict, she has never seen a beautifully decorated room, a colorful textile, or brightly colored flowering plant that did not make her heart sing.

Paula has long been committed to giving back to her, profession, community, humankind and the planet.  She is past president of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and currently sits on the boards of the Monterey County Film Commission and the Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Colin has proudly called the Puerto Vallarta area home since 2008.

Originally from Canada, he first came to Vallarta in the early 1990's and has watched as the area has grown over the years.  After a decade long career in the Federal Government of Canada, Colin chose to change professions and move to Paradise.

Colin is co-broker of Costa Riviera Real Estate having started in real estate in the area in 2008.  He is a member of AMPI Riviera-Nayarita, the professional association of realtors in Mexico and is CONOCER certified, the Mexican government's recognition for real estate professionals.  Over the years Colin has also been active in the local chapter of AMPI training agents and brokers on a new multiple listing technology as well as communication amongst the members.

He owned a popular beach bar and restaurant in Bucerias for many years giving him a unique opportunity to understand the challenges and rewards of running a business in Mexico.  This gave him a much better understanding of the business, government and regulatory culture in the area which has served him well in helping his clients.

Colin is dedicated to making sure that all of his clients are satisfied in all steps of the buying or selling transaction.  For Colin the best outcome for his clients is a smooth and successful purchase or sale of their piece of Paradise and that he is regarded as a professional worthy of referrals by his clients ... and becoming friends is always a great outcome, too!

David was born in Mexico City and raised in Tepic, the capital of Nayarit – a small, but pretty and friendly city. Moving to Puerto Vallarta in 2000 was an important change in his life – becoming aware of the exciting and diverse segments of the tourism market.

He became a chef 12 years ago with one of the premier restaurants in PV.  In the process he developed an interest in property management, drawn to the opportunity to help people take care of their property.

Transitioning to condominium association management, he took the position of operations manager for a large condominium complex in Nuevo Vallarta.  He then began his own business: providing property management services – arranging rentals and handling maintenance needs for owners of second homes.  Recently, he was the chef on a large estate in Punta Mita.  He is now the estate manager and provides concierge services for the owner.

David is very enthusiastic and loves making people smile in different ways.   He has a lovely wife and 2 beautiful young children.  He absolutely loves working with owners and handling their real estate needs - he doesn't feel like it's a job.
